Hot stacks

My son in law recommended this place. Wow, he was right. The prices are excellent for what you get and the food was very good. The bacon was fried and you could taste that the oil might not have been very fresh, not terrible but not great either. Other than that I would still return.

Best breakfest joint around and I mean arouuunnddd. Been coming here for years because every other place I try is not as good. Staff here are friendly, food tastes awesome, portion size is great and the price is very fair.

If you are travelling on Hwy 27 near Cookstown, Make it a point to stop at this restaurant. Wonderful staff and fantastic food. Well worth the visit.

Steak is amazing. Food is really good. Good portions. Staff is always friendly even when my wife is not. Fair price. Would recommend to all. Support local.

This was our first time at Hot Stacks. We were greeted right away and our wait for 7 people (3 adults, 4 kids) was only 1 minute.The prices are very fair and the portions were big, especially for the kids. We have 4 hungry boys so the big portions at a moderate price was amazing.The service was friendly and great. The food was hot and cooked perfect, including my poached medium eggs, which most restaurants overcook. The coffee was great.The washrooms were clean but had a pungent sewer smell. This is most likely because it is on a septic system, but at least they were very clean.Definitely recommend this place for a great breakfast, and worth the road trip if you are far!

Great service and very accommodating for my group of 17. Food came quick and the portions were very generous!

Hands down the best breakfast in the a 100 km radius. Wait staff needs to be more organized or have a manager but the food is delicious.

Whats not to love. Great service and great food. Fresh and hot local dinner. Nothing fancy, just great food at a friendly price.Burgers are hand made and the omlette was huge. Pancakes are amazing.

As a biker, we often take our weekend trips and on several occasions we stop off at Hot Stacks for a huge breakfast...The portions are great and the food is realllly good...The staff....super friendly...Love this place...

Our first visit to this location. We both had the lumberjack breakfast. It was excellent. Especially the home fried potatoes were super crunchy and superb. At many places they are too soft but not here. The bacon crunchy as well. The pancakes were nice. Our waitress was friendly and cared about us. Total recommend!

This restaurant has large portions for a fair price. The waffle is light and fluffy and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of fresh fruit they top it with. They didn't ask how I would like my steak cooked but it came out medium well/well done. It was a bit tough for my taste but it was still delicious and these are the best home fries I've had by far. My husband enjoyed the Lumberjack breakfast as well. The staff is friendly and quick. The restaurant could use a renovation. The material on the benches is practically gone.

They have the best pancakes in and around. I visit them from Toronto. The service is fast and excellent. Staff is very friendly. A large dining area and huge portions. Free parking. There is always a lot of rush, but you still get seating within 5-10 mins.

Service is great and helpful. Prices are on point with most breakfast places but definitely more value for what you receive. Excellent pancakes for what they're known for. You won't be disappointed. Just be forewarned about the lineup to get a spot.

Phenomenal selection and large portions. Seriously. Im just a small human. I couldn’t possibly have eaten all those banana chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. Damn, they were good though!!!

Service was terrible. We sat in an area that was serviced by one waitress and she did not want to serve us....We felt a strong sense of racism as we are not white and there was no need for such negativity towards customers.... Three tables were cleared beside us and served by that same server before we even got asked "what would u like to drink"My Blood was boiling by this point as I've tried several times to contact that same waitress. I got up and asked three other waitresses that were standing around if we could get some drinks. They were puzzled and thought we had been served by her. ..The rasict waitress ignored us the entire time.It's 2020 people... 2020...... Happy family day for the ethics I guess.......

Our breakfast was very good but even better than breakfast was our waitress Eyvonne. She was funny and friendly, the perfect combination to work with the public. Five stars for customer service.

Moved to the area recently and happily discovered Hot Stacks. It’s definitely going to be a family favourite in the years to come. Incredibly fluffy pancakes, delicious food for very reasonable prices, and very friendly service! They also have toys for the little ones to play with.Be prepared to wait on the weekends because it’ll be packed with hungry customers. It’s 100% worth the wait though!

First time eating at hot stacks today. I'm allready wanting to go back. Oh ... the bacon cheeseburger.... I'm in love. A two hander monster of fresh ground beef. Get your napkins ready ladies n gentlemen and get a feed on!

I’m tempted to not leave a good review because I don’t want this place to get even busier. That said , great service and great products deserve praise! Seriously great breakfast place! Yummmmm

Excellent value, very good food and great coffee. Sarah provided exceptional service, my coffee cup was never empty.

Large menu selection and good food but loses points on cleanliness. Table was not properly wiped down and was sticky with syrup. Cutlery was also dirty.

A great little breakfast spot, friendly service, lots of seating, food brought to the table hot and fast, The star rating is well earned. We had spinach pemeal Eggs Benedict & Salmon Eggs Benedict both were excellent!

Despite the long wait - today being St. Patrick's Day - the staff were friendly, fast and served up good food. Consistent quality with my fave brunch item: Strawberry Supreme Waffle! Staff were decked out in green & glitter because today, we're all Irish!

Great Canadian breakfast/lunch place. Was only 2 servers in front at this time of visit but they work hard and efficient . Full pack on regular weekday..expect more on weekends..

One of the best breakfast places I have ever been to. Have the farmers sausage AND the Banana Bread French Toast!!!

I’m upset that I have lived in the area for so long and no one has ever told me about this place. The food was quite possibly the best breakfast I’ve ever had. My only minor issue which is not even that big of a deal, is that every time we go we some how end up with one of those tables placed randomly in the middle of the room. Other than that everything else is great!

Delicious breakfast and quaint restaurant. The pancakes are excellent and the breakfast sandwiches are amazing. Everything is very clean and welcoming. I’ll be coming back here for sure.

Friendly service, good food! Nice selection of healthy options, along with the amazing Banana Split Waffle. And they serve homemade strawberry freezer jam! That alone makes me want to come back!

Breakfast the way should be done, lots of bacon, large eggs, portions were amazing; and if all the mentioned was not enough service was A+, I drink lots of coffee and my cup was never empty.

A lovely family restaurant. The waitress took our drink order immediately while seating us. The food was delicious. It's a very clean restaurant, friendly staff and affordable. It was nice to admire the artwork from the Group of Seven on the walls and other artists. Plenty of parking as well. Will return again when we are in the area.
